Teach Soap

I eiter must be retarded or something, I don't understancd how not to get that white film on my soap (CP)!!! Can someone please help me? I started adding my oils to the lye, both at low temps, I used Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Shea Butter, Mango Butter, Avocado Butter, Cocoa Butter and Castor Oil. For the water portion I used flat ice cold beer mixed w/ Pomegranate brewed Tea. I used the lye calc on Mountain Sage and SB until there was a medium trace. I used French Vanilla fragrance oil. Did I do something wrong? Thanks guys.

You don't add oils to your lye. Add lye to your oils. I presume you're gelling? Are you covering the soap with anything? Some people have had good luck with spritzing the top of their soap with alcohol to help prevent the ash.

You know I honestly didn't know that it made a difference? I know that you add the lye to the water but I didn't think it meant anything for the oils and lye!! Thanks Soapbuddy!! I have no idea why, but this gel thing I don't understand!! I just don't get it, I don't know how to do it!! When I poured the soap into my mold, it was kind of thick, like caramel, I tried to cover it w/ Saran wrap and there was bubbles. I tried to get them out and it just wouldn't be smooth so I didn't bother w/ the saran wrap. They were fine when I first cut them and put them up (January 13th), but now, I went to check them and they have white film on them. I never tried the alcohol thing. I do not know how to gel SoapBuddy!!! lol
