Teach Soap

I collected a large amount of soybean oil that had been used in local restaurant. I'd recieved better filtered oil before from a local soaper but wanted to see what would happen with low down dirty burnt oil. I filtered it through a t-shirt, there was french fries and bits of food. It smelled exactly like garlic and french fires and we did a lot of laughing while making this soap. It was purely an experimental batch.

I used it at 30 percent, in a recipe of palm, PKO, castor and shea butter. It was also a 10% superfat. I added steel cut oats ground in a coffe grinder and scented it with apple pie scent (staying in the food theme). Once finished there was no scent associated with fry oil.

I just washed with the soap, it was nice. I really expected to smell fry oil, garlic french fries. I smell nothing but the scent. Just an interesting little experiment, not to be sold but the restaurant owners got a BIG laugh out of the soap.

Garlic french fries? You got my attention. Sounds like a perfect recycling project to me!

Thanks, but no thanks. That oil has already been oxidized due to high heat, so it would more prone to DOS. It's fine if this is just for yourself, But I would never sell it.
