Teach Soap

Here are a couple pics of some CP I made a 1# batch with 2 tbsp activated charcoal.

Nice black...I like it!

Wow, that is black! I am going to be making a black coal soap for family members at Christmas. Hopefully I can get mine as black as yours.

I haven't used a full bar since it is still curing, but I used some scrap that was stuck to the mold and it didn't seem gray. I won't know until I test a full bar, but let me tell you that clean up was a pain. I mixed the activated charcoal (which was very light and tended to fly a little bit before it mixed) with some oil before adding it to my full batch. I will keep you posted.

If anyone is interested, I got my charcoal along with some milk powders and oxides from http://www.texasnaturalsupply.com/defau ... tegoryid=0 and I was very happy with everything I got from them. I have no affiliation with them but they made me a very happy customer and I had previously had trouble finding a supplier that sold charcoal and other things to buy that would offset the shipping price.

If the suds weren't gray that's a good thing.

I heard that if you gel the soap will turn out blacker, but I haven't tried it

Wow! Great deep black. The first thing I thought was that would make great "coal" soap balls for Christmas stockings. I may have to add it to my list of projects.

Ok, I have to ask why charcoal? Is it just for color or does it have some skin detox properties?
