I am having a problem finding a good oil mix to work with when it comes to swirling. I can't seem to find a good base recipe to work with that gives me the additional time required to be able to mix multiple cups of colorants. What oils can one start out with to have plenty of time to be able to get a good swirl batch under their belt? I have read just about every book out there and non of them comment on lite trace oil blends. I know that they exist, but can't seem to put the puzzle pieces together on a simple base recipe.
Thanks, :P

You could go with 90% olive with 10% castor. That should give you plenty of time to do multiple swirls.

Thanks Soap Buddy :P I'm truly not trying to steal anyones recipe here with this question. Am I asking the question wrong? I don't think that just using Olive and Castor is the answer to my question. I have made castile soap before with great sucess, but do not wish to wait 6 mths. just to be able to swirl. Are there comon recipes that one can use to make a good batch of soap using a recipe that does not trace quickly i.e. 3 oil blend, 4 oil blend etc. What would be a good combination? What are a few oils that have the property of lite trace? Thanks :P

What oils do you have on hand? You could create a recipe with coconut, soybean, olive and castor.
