Can anyone define in layman terms what a false trace actually is and how to identify the issue and resolve it? I am reading many posts here and it seems that I am not the only soaper that is having issues with seizing and trace issues. I to add my BB EO and FO with my oils at the start, but it seems that I am getting no time to work with my mixture. I normally work with my lye and oil at 100 to 110, but recently started to try at room temp per a video I watched of Cristy from KBShimmer. She stated in her video that she was working with her oils and lye at room temperature and she had plenty of time to do all sorts of things before she poured her soap into her logs, which by the way poured out beautifully and not thick at all. How she does it, I would love to know :P
Thanks,
SweetP

You can get false trace with oils that start to solidify at room temp. If you think you might have a false trace, stir the mix with a whisk and see if some of the soap looks like thin gravy and some of the soap will stick to the whisk before falling off back into the pot.

Seizing is when the whole soap turns into a soap on a stick. That's a little different. It's usually caused by the fragrance or essential oil used.
