If it's like applesauce, it's done. Take it out ASAP, or it will be really dry.

Thanks soapbuddy. So you mean to tell me that I wasn't supposed to wait until it dried up? I googled it yesterday and found different methods. One said cover it, another one said don't cover it. One site said 170 degrees, another one said 210 degrees. I just want to know how to do it the right way!!! When do I know its ready to be put into the mold and when do I add the color and fragrance? When I was done, the finished product looked like rebatch soap. I didn't like the way it looked. I kept putting it back in the oven because it kept zapping me. I wasn't able to stick blend it before I put it in the oven because I couldn't find it. Do you think that added to the problem? Thank you!!!

Also soapbuddy, I followed the exact measurements with my digital scale from the lye calc. On Maj. Mount. Sage. I used olive oil, castor oil, coconut and palm oil and added fragrance oil. When am I supposed to know its done to put into the mold? When its at the applesauce stage or mashed potatos stage? I am so confused!! Oh, sorry, when can I cut it and when can it be used?

You definitely need a stick blender. If you don't, there is a chance that not all the lye mixed with the oils and it could zap. Whether it's CP or HP you need to bring the oils and lye to trace. For crockpot hot process, you pour it in and cook it on low for about an hour. Some people stir through cooking, some people don't. It will not be fluid again after the cook. It will be more like mashed potatoes or apple sauce. For whole color, you can add the color anytime from stick blending to after the cook. For fragrance, add it after the cook and before you glop the soap into your mold. You can cut it as soon as it completely cools off.

Thank you soapbuddy, I couldn't find my stick blender and one of the sites said that you didn't have to bring it to trace, to not unnecessarily tax your stick blender and let the oven do all the work!! Of course I found it right before I took the pot out of the oven!!
