Teach Soap

Holy crap!!!!! I don't know what I was doing-I split a recipe to make a swirl soap and I was supposed to add 4.3 oz lye to each liquid pitcher (one carrot and one water) and I friggin' added twice the amount of lye in each! 9.18 ounces-YIKES! It came to a trace and acted normal so I poured it in the mold and then went to record my notes and realized what I did! What does this mean will happen? Will it over heat or just be unusable? CRAP!!!!! All that work and product down the drain cry..cry ..cry

You can try to save it by adding the missing oil and rebatch. It is not safe as is, as it's lye heavy.

The chunks will take a long time to melt. Be careful with the salad shooter. If the actual shredder is not stainless steel and those chunks are lye heavy, it could ruin the shredder attachment. I would try a potato masher to get those chunks into smaller pieces and to mix them with your oil. You know, if this is just a small batch I would get rid of it and start over. How much more time, energy and money are you willing to put into this and have it end up dry (from more cooking) ?
