Teach Soap

I made a small batch of soap last night and added beeswax to it. When I peeked at it about 14 hours later it was rock hard. Maybe I added way too much beewax? I added an ounce.

2.5oz lye
6oz water
7oz coconut oil
10 oz olive oil
1 tbsp castor oil
1oz beeswax

Did I screw up?
Since they are completely hard should I go ahead and unmold them? I'm so new to this and I'm getting frustrated.

That's too much beeswax for that size batch. I would have used 0.2 max. You could shred it and add it to another batch.

Thanks Annie! I laugh hysterically when I see what I did. Too silly. Yeah, I'm very new. Still waiting on a shipment of sustainable palm oil so I wanted to try Alicia Grosso's recipe out of her book, Magical Soapmaking. I thought adding a little beeswax would make it a little harder. Silly act on my behalf.
I have lots of oils and butters to make soaps, just lacking the palm oil that seems to be in every recipe I find.
It's frustrating. I read that you can substitute coconut oil for palm oil, but if the recipe calls for both then what? I want to pull out my hair.
I'm itching to make a shea butter soap with no palm oil but I have no recipe and I'm too scared to make my own recipe.

You can use up to 20% coconut in a single batch. Coconut cannot be subbed for palm straight across, as each has a different SAP value.
