Which is best for soapmaking, fractionated coconut oil or regular coconut oil. I am new to soapmaking and this forum.

You use regular (76 degree) coconut oil for soap, fractionated is for lotions and creams, mostly.

Fractionated oil would make your soap softer.

Fractionated coconut is a liquid at room temp. It is less greasy then regular coconut. I like it in lotion.
76 deg vs. 92 deg is the difference at which each will melt. Since I live in the hot desert, I prefer the 92 degree as it stays in a solid form for me.

I am a new soap maker and accidently bought fractionated coconut oil. My recipe is for 7 ozs of coconut oil and from what I have been reading you wouldn't use as much of the fractionated oil. Does anyone know how much I would use? Hope this makes sense and thanks.
