Teach Soap

Hello! Wondering what all kinds of stamps everyone uses for their soaps. I have 2 milky way mold stamps and they seem to be made of a hard resin and work very well. I would like an image that they do not carry and wasn't sure if anyone had tried a rubber craft stamp. If the soap is fresh from unmolding and still fairly soft, would it take the impression - or are those sorts of stamps just too soft of a medium? I'd rather not have to pay the $60-$90 dollars for a custom magnesium/copper stamp.

If the soap is soft enough, yes, you can use a rubber stamp.

I have used a rubber stamp, mounted and unmounted. I stamp it right after cutting or unmolding. For me I do not think the image is as crisp, but it does work. I am thinking the color of the soap could also be making a difference. I have yet to try first dipping the stamp in a mica and then stamping. Have seen this done by others and like the look.

Hi, I want to order a soap stamp but until I want to spend a good $80 on a custom one, I have tried other things. The latest thing I have found that work and come in several styles is "drawer" knobs. They are only about $6 and stamp just great on newly made soap. Lowes has a good selection.

I have used them and they work faily well, as with any soap stamping it is important to stamp them at just the right time.

I have a cat face stamp and it is made of some type of plastic. From BB. I wouldn't suggest it for soap stamping because it is too thick to do a nice clean stamp, and I don't know what a thick stamp like this one would be good for. Playdough? I don't know. It is cute and not useful.
