It seems that to use the pH testing strips for the soap you are supposed to wet the bar of soap and bring it up to a bit of lather - then test it with the strip.

My question is: should the pH not be in the appropriate range and you need to wait longer, can you reuse the same bar of soap to test again later? I'd rather not mess up my decorative touches on too many bars of soap while testing. Or maybe you are supposed to test all the bars from a batch instead of a representative one?

Thanks, Courtney

pH strips are not very accurate. The best way to know what the pH of your soap is to get a pH meter. You can test your soap with your tongue as the tongue is much more sensitive. Properly made soap should not need a pH strip. I have never used them.
