Hi everybody,

I've made about 15 batches of 1-2 lb soap so far, I'm going to make 5lb batch for the first time
and I'm a little nervous!! :?
Is there anything different in making small batches with making larger batches I should know?
I usually soap around 120F (except for goat milk which I soap @ 80F)

I found that when I soap in a larger volume, oils and lye water heat or cool a little more slowly. Also, if you're switching to a larger mold; just be prepared for the weight of the filled mold if you move it to, say, an oven for CPOP or freezer. All other parts of the process seemed the same to me, and it's great to have more soap when you're done.

I would soap cooler; around 110. Smaller batches don't retain heat as much as the larger ones.
