Hi! I just made my first batch of CP soap, I hope it works out good, it was really interesting to see it change from dark to light and then to thickness with the Trace, But I did learn that if you put the Lye/Water mixture in a cold bath, you have to move fast, I thought it would go down just a little faster, but it was steady, Next time My solid oils will be melted first. But I am excited to see it, but I can wait until tomorrow.

Anyway, How do you all wash your utensils? do you wait 24 hours to clean them, especially the ones that come in contact with the Lye? I read a book that said wait 24hrs. before cleaning them, but I hate to leave them dirty all night, because I want to try a castile soap also.

Thanks

I just wash mine right away with lots and lots of hot soapy water in the sink until they are not slippery anymore.

I get Dollar Store liquid soap and wash things as soon as I'm done with them, since I usually need to make another batch after.

Thank You both! I went ahead and washed them up and then let them sit in a vinegar/water solution for a few minutes and then rinsed them and dried them.
