Teach Soap

I wonder how some of you deal with fragrances that accelerate trace in cp soap? I have tried soaping at a much lower temp but that did not really help. Some do not mix in well (white blobs) and the more I mix it the faster it sets up. Can be a tad frustrating. One comes to mind, pearberry from BB. I ended up calling pearberry pearls due the the round white dots in the finished soap. Ironically my customers loved it. It was my little secret!

Heh. Pearberry riced a batch for me a couple weeks ago. It moves faster than any temperamental floral I've ever soaped. Too bad, it's a great smelling fo. I'm going to try more water and soaping even cooler next time. I soaped it at 100. I did add the fo to my cooled down oils, not at trace, just as always. So maybe room temp and have 1/2 cup of boiling water on hand. That's my plan.

You could also try adding some soy lecithin to slow it down. I didn't have any. Good luck!

I agree with adding lecithin. Add about 1 TBS. per your batch.

Thanks Kate and Soapbuddy. I have never heard of using lecithin before, I'll give it a try.

I should have asked where you purchase your lecithin. Is it liquid or granuals and when do you add it? I just did a batch of Huckleberry and of course I could not move faster then it did. I soaped at 100 and did not discount the water So I've got to do something different.
I sell these bars with voids anyway, some think it is interesting!
