Teach Soap

I was wondering what a good recipe would be for cold process soaps in 3D molds. Most of what I'm finding on the internet for molds are either melt and pour or rebatching. Otherwise I see many people using wooden trays and slicing the soaps. I want to try cp in 3D molds that I found on the Brambleberry website. Any suggestions? BTW, I was ready a Susan Miller Cavitch book that said most vegetable based soaps are not suitable for decorative molds but rather more for cutting and curing. She says some with tallow would be best but doesn't go much further elaborating on those recipes. I'm really looking for a hard bar that lathers well but ultimately moisturizing. Thank you!!!

I make both veggie and tallow based soaps. They both work well. I use beeswax and sodium lactate in my batches which work well with single detailed molds. Take a look at Kathy Miller web site for recipes http://www.millersoap.com/#Soap%20Contents and resize them in a lye calculator like The Sage.

Thank you so much for responding! I'm going to hunt down a supplier for sodium lactate. I heard it preserves the life of the bar in the shower.
