Teach Soap

I know that many people are hesitant to give out recipes for their soaps, so I'm not asking for one; however, could someone point me in the direction of something gentle enough that I could use it for my children? My daughters do not have allergies, but the baby (she's 2 1/2) does have sensitive skin and we have not found any store bought soap that doesn't dry her skin out. I'd love to be able to make soap for her Thanks so much!

Try 100% olive unscented with 7-8% superfat.

You won't get many bubbles from a Castille soap like this. If you like more bubbles, you can sub 2% castor for the olive oil. So you would use 98% olive & 2% castor. The longer this soap cures, the milder it will become.

Bubbles? My kids like bubbles, but I just care about clean! But I do have some castor oil in my cabinet

Pure Castille soap will make you clean. Some people find pure Castille a little slimey, but it's very gentle. If your kids are used to lots of bubbles that synthetic soaps and washes from the supermarket provide, then adding castor should work for you.

Id recomend goats milk soap. I use organic goats milk powder I get at Wegmans. Cause I don't have access to live goats. My customers love it. I've got some customers who have very sensitive immune systems from taking alot of medicine. Or cancer treatments.Also I just made a Shea butter and Aloe soap Im thinking would be very nice for babys. These are all unscented. But you could certinaly add some nice EOs.

Ditto on the goatmilk. I do have goats so I use all goatmilk in the place of water. I make a baby soap with a nice baby lotion fo, OMH, and an unscented. I have many customers who have sensitive skin and eczema who just love it. Remember though it will not be tear free so be careful around the eyes. My grandkids have used my soap since day 1 but I have given "permission" for tear free shampoo and face wash

This is alittle OT, but what makes 'tear free' shampoo actually tear free?

When my supply of shea butter runs out, I will be getting mango butter instead. I'm seeing more and more people with shea butter allergies.
