Hello everyone! I am new here an hoping to get some advice from some experienced liquid soap makers! I have been making bar soap for a long time now and wanted to expand my scope, so I would love to make some liquid soap that I could put into a foam pump bottle...since liquid soap is very watery anyway, I thought it would be a great idea :D . Now, can I use a basic recipe gentle liquid soap recipe and use it as a facial cleanser? If so, does anyone have any suggestions for the ingredients I should use?

I appreciate any comments or suggestions to help get me going in this new direction of soap making :D

I don't know diddly about making liquid soaps but I do know in order to use a foam pump you'd want to use approx. 1/3 soap and 2/3 water in order for it to foam properly. I do this with regular dish soap in my foamer bottle.

I'm not an expert but as far as I know the more coconut oil you put in your recipe the more cleaning power it has. So depending on your general basic recipe you got, was it from house cleaning formula or dishwashing or general cleaning? They tend to be coconut oil heavy. I use Coconut oil, Canola oil, Sweet Almond oil, & Cocoa butter for face soap. It comes out very gentle and would not dry out your face. Just don't put too much Cocoa butter, less than 5%, or you might break out. just remember, most of the EOs thicken up the diluted liquid soap a little after you add them and your soap might look a little cloudy. Hope this helps.
