If you don't gel, how long does it take to saponify? It's been a week since I made the Coconut Milk soap and I am just dying to try it. I know it is still soft and not completely cured but is it saponified? TIA.

I don't gel, so I wait at least 24 hours to see if it zaps. It does take longer for ungelled soap to saponify as there is no heat involved.

Well, I couldn't wait. I tested for zap and nothing. So I used it in my shower this morning and it is fabulous!! Thanks for your reply, Soapbuddy.

Yuppers. I think that after a couple of weeks once it is nice and hard it will be really good. It lathers nicely and left my skin nice and soft. The original recipe without the coconut milk was good too but this was even better. I am hooked!
