Thank you for all your help so far. I'm happy to have found a forum where people are not only helpful, but nice.

I am going to be making my first batch of soap either today or tomorrow and would like to use a thick tupperware type container as a mold. Do I need to line it with parchment paper or can i instead use a thin layer of vaseline? Thanks in advance for your help and I hope to have pictures to post by this weekend :)

I would definitely line it with parchment paper. and my favorite type of mould is silicone, i still use parchment paper, but it pops right out!

Have Fun!

If the container is wide and shallow, you don't need to do anything, unless your recipe is soft. Even then, you can put it in the freezer and it should pop right out.

Thank you so much for your feedback. It is shallow and wide so I think I will go without lining and see what happens.

What about the plastic molds from BB? I've only made my CP in a wooden loaf mold but I want to branch out a it if possible. Can you pour into other molds? Soapbuddy mentioned putting them in the freezer...will this work with some of the molds used in M&P

The freezer should work for both; CP & MP. CP can stay there longer though.
