I just purchased the Labcolors sample pack from BB and just mixed my first color. I selected the Rosemist for high ph cp soap which called for 2 parts peach and 1 part brilliant blue. I used a tsp for my parts and heated 3 tsp of water to 140 before adding the colors. I first shook the color tube before removing. My problem is the color came out a deep green! It's pretty but I wanted rosemist. Any thoughts as to what happed? Should I try it in a few ounces of raw batter to see what color it turns?

How big was the batch? What oils nad butters did you use? Did you gel?

Haven't put it in a batch yet. I was afraid to since it is such a dark green color. I just can't imagine that it will turn into the rosemist I thought it would be. I think I will add some to a small sample size to see what happens.
As you could probably tell I am new to labcolors and a little nervous. Wish me luck.

If you're not sure what color it will end up to be, take a small container. Put a small amount of lye in it. Add enough water for the lye to dissolve. Put a couple of drops of the color straight into your lye solution. (Unless your oils/butters are very dark), the color you will see in the lye water should give you a better idea of how the color will react once it's in your soap batch.

Thanks soapbuddy! I was up late making soap and decided to pull a small amount of the batter out and add the color to it and guess what? My deep green turn rosemist. I can't believe it. It goes to show just how green I am.
