Post subject: Silicone mold and CP?

This might be a dumb question but could I used a silicone mold for my CP soap? I have only used silicone molds for melt and pour. I love the detail that they give but I love the quality of CP so much more. Would the CP mix eat away at the mold, or is that not a risk since the lye has been mixed with oils?

Sure you can!

Silicone is not affected by the lye.

I have had some problems with the red colored silicone molds leaching color into my soap - but no problems with the blues..

Hi Squamy,

I have only made two batches of soap so far and have used silicone molds, one square and a twelve quantity muffin pan. I sprayed them with cooking oil and they unmolded perfectly. I rested them on a solid baking sheet for easy moving.
