It would realy help to know what you put in it. And yes you can cut it down. I've had soap that didn't jel and it turns out fine Linda

the lye calculator that i use has a button to "resize" the batch.... so you just plug in the 6 to 8 lb recipe as stated and then you can "resize" same. MMS has a wonderful lye calculator. Sometimes soap produces a hard bar depending on what ingredients you are using. For more help, post what your recipe is and I will be glad to help you!
