I've been reading different ways to make patterns in soap and I came accross a picture of this great looking soap bar :shock:

labeled funnel method. But I can't find a clear explanation on how it works and how to do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I saw this a while back and was able to find it. I think her soaps are wonderful!

I mainly do upright PVC molds so I have not tried this myself but this is a very clear tutorial.
If you try it be sure to post some pics here.

The only other thing I would add to this is, don't bother making the chopstick contraption. It's really not necessary. You can punch a hole in the bottom of a cardboard box and place your funnel in that. I used a plastic glad container and had hubby drill a 3/4 hole in the bottom of it and placed my funnel in that so that I would see thru it.

I tried the funnel method but ended up just using two pitchers with ounce measurements. I put half the batch in one and half in the other and color. Then I just pour them both at the same time in the mold. Seems to do a better swirl for me!

Hey good idea spottedcat the container seems a much more user friendly way of anchoring the funnel. I'll be looking at trying this method at some stage.
