Hello all,
I've been having problems cutting my soap, since the first batch, when I cut them they start cutting fine, but then at the end they break, I tried superfatting them to 5% but they still break, does any body have any idea why or came across the same problem, I use a regular kitchen knife, should I use a different cutter? I wait at least 24 hours to cut them, I use the soap calculator from BB, the last time I was just making two shampoo bars for my son, I used:
3.5 oz olive oil
1 oz palm oil
.5 oz castor oil
superfatted at 5%
And they broke, PLEASE HELP!!!!
Any suggestions will be much appreciated. Thank you!!!!

With such a small recipe, I would convert it to grams. You'll get a more accurate recipe.

Oh, so probably that is why they are breaking, because this has happened to my 4 batches, and the other 3 batches aren't that small, I use measurements in ounces, not by weight, so you think it would be better to use a scale and superfat more than 5 %, sorry about this question, but I don't want to give up that easy, also my soaps look whitish when they cure, I don't know what to do, I had to do a rebatch on my worst batch to save it and the soaps don't look that good, they are spongy.

Always measure by weight. If you don't have a scale, I suggest that you get one. Rebatch soaps will never be as fluid as the first time. They can end up spongy if your measurements are off, or if you added too much water.
