Teach Soap

Hey Everybody!!!
I’m new to the forum & 6 months new to soap making and I’m so excited to be a part of this forum. I’ve been browsing through the posts for the past few weeks and I’ve learned SOO much! I’m so excited to be able to meet people that share the same passion as me.

I do have a question and I didnt see a post/question on this... but I’ve read where some of you use beeswax in your soap to make your bars harder and last a bit longer, but has anyone ever used candelilla wax? My soaps are all vegan, so I don’t want to use beeswax, and I’ve been contemplating on using candelilla wax, but I’m not sure what effects/benefits it will give the soap other than a harder bar? Has anyone ever used this wax in their soap? I would love to hear how it worked out for you?

Candelilla wax is much harder than beeswax. I normally use beeswax, but if I was to switch, I would use half the amount of candelilla. I use beeswax at 1%.

Welcome! I don't use either one in my soap. My soap is made from a vegan formula too. It's hard enough without wax.
