Teach Soap

Hi all,

I am trying to re batch a pour that had a lot of air bubble faults when I took them out of the molds.
There is no lye, just bubbles from the details not filling well, and the PH is fine.
Problem is.... my soap doesn't want to melt! I have added 1/2 cup of water to it, grated the soap, but its looking more like taffy than melted soap. ( I was hoping to re mold for this coming week... Ideas anyone? Could you please email me privately at crossmanfarms@live.com?

That's going to take a loooong time to dry. If the soap is fresh, there is no need to add water. Rebatch soap takes a while to remelt.

Really?
Its 1/2 cup to nearly 3 pounds of soap. What temp should I have my pot set at? Its a presto pot and I have it at 200.

It can take 3 to 4 hours before it's melted. I hope you know you will not be able to pour, more like glop into your mold. Then again; maybe not. you have all that extra water in there.

Oh well I will just pour it into my loaf mold then and hand cut it

I just did a rebatch last night from my ugly batch of CP soap, I shredded it and added some water, just to get it wet, then put it in the microwave for 1 minute setting the power to 80 not higher, it started melting and I stirred it, then put in the microwave again and so on until it was totally melted, well I couldn't get rid of some little lumps, but they didn't show on the finished soap, then I poured the melted soap in to cupcake molds, stick them in the freezer for 20 minutes and the came right out of the mold easily, they look like little spongy to me, but they look better than before.
