Hello,

Here I come with PH question. A normal CP soap PH value is?

I test my soaps PH using strip paper, it reads 8~10. Is it OK? What is the "good natural CP soap" PH reading?

Besides, some said phenolphthalein tests more correctly tester than strip paper. Is it true?

Last one, since CP soap is solid and PH indicator is usually for liquid(am I right here?), how do we make CP soap liquid in order to test PH more correctly?

Thanks for anyone's help in advance!

Erica

Soap is around 9. So a reading between 8 and 10 is pretty typical. The test strips will not give you an accurate reading though. If you want to know the actual reading, I would suggest getting a PH meter. Jen at www.lotioncrafter.com has a good one.
