How long have you been making soaps, etc.? I just think you feel a little to unsure of yourself. So the question would be, at the craft fair when someone asks you a question, are you truly going to be able to answer them in a knowledgeable fashion or just fluff your way through it? I am quite sure you are a very conscientious person, so with that being said, I believe that your potential customers would benefit tremendously from your products, if you did a little research. I am not sure about having products out for people to touch and hold and then have the expectation of someone buying stuff that has previously been handled by tons of others. You may be best suited to just have one of each of your products out as a sample for people to look at and hold and have the ones for sale packaged so as to cut down on cross-contamination.

About some of the soap questions above. Grapefruit Seed extract can help to delay some oils from going rancid. I have only used it in my Hemp soaps and they do seem to stay freesher longer. But it is expensive! You can use bar soap up to the point that it smells bad - I don't think "rancid" will hurt you , but the yucky smell is not good for business! Some people use Rosemary Oleoresin Extract in their soap to retard DOS ( dreaded orange spot) that can happen, though I've never had it myself.

I have a suggestion for you though - start with only one product and really get that one down before you branch out to others. You could spread yourself and your cash way too thin very fast!

Hey folks, Im from the north east and I've been making soap for 3 years now and I've never had a bar of soap go rancid. My grand mother was a soaper and after she died I had some of her soap that Id bet was 10 years old ( it was very hard to be sure ) but it was still good soap. How does soap spoil??? Linda

I found some CP soap that was pushing 10 years old. It was very dark and hard, but fine.
