Teach Soap

For some reason the local stores don't stock freezer paper anymore and, as we live in hicktown, I'm reluctant to drive for 2 hours to get it. So I tried lining with a garbage bag, after all Soapbuddy does it so it's gotta be right...Why has it taken me so long to try this?!!! It takes a fraction of the time to line the mold, the loaf comes out soooo much easier and the plastic pulls off the loaf in one go, no messing

My question is....what about the wrinkles? Can you reuse bags? Do certain ones melt? I'm dying to try this, too...

The wrinkles don't really show and I probably wouldn't reuse the bags. I used large, inexpensive, clear plastic garden waste bags and got enough to line 4 molds.

I normally used freezer paper, but for my last batch I used Saran wrap. No need for tape, no wrinkles, and as far as I know (considering I only made 1 batch with it) no problems whatsoever.

Heavy duty trash bags seem to work the best for me. I'm glad to hear it's working for you.

I'm ready to try lining with garbage bags. Freezer paper has officially tap danced on my last good nerve. Question: do you cut and tape the clear plastic garbage bags like you would with freezer paper? I'm using it in a log mold.
