I made a batch of olive oil, coconut oil, and safflower oil soap with neon green oxide. Boy, a little goes a long way with this oxide!

Thanks, ladies. I had never worked with oxides before. Is there a rule of thumb about how much to add per pound of soap or is it just "to desired color"? I was amazed at how little I had to add to get such a bright green.

Ditto on the colorant question? Is that a pigment? I've never seen one that bright. The ones I've seen are all very earthy and more muted looking.

That's one bright soap! It would make for a fun soap shred embedding project. :)

wow you got amazeing color, did you mix that with water or oil to dissolve it first? Did you measure how much you used ( so that you can recreate it again if you want to? Linda

It is a neon green oxide sold by Southern Soapers. No, I did not mix it with the oils. I sprinkled some of the oxide in the soap at light trace and stirred like crazy, as it likes to clump.
