So, I was curious to make a batch where I embed either chunks or even shavings perhaps into new soap, but I wasn't sure how old the soap can be, or has to be?

Can you use soap that is just a day or two after cutting?

What about using fully cured soap - that's been sitting for 6 weeks?

What is the best "age" of soap to use?

Thanks!!!

Shavings can be used to embed into another soap as old as one year.
Chunks should be "younger" because the new batch will shrink as it cures, so the chunks could fall out.
The fresher the chunks, the better the chance that they will stay throughout the bar.
