Subtitle: WHy it's always good to wear safety gear while soaping!
I was making a ton of soap yesterday, and on the second to last batch, a 5.5 pounder, I am trying to pour a thin trace into my log mold. And then I see the surface tension or whatever is causing the soap not to pour out over the LIP of the bowl, but dripping down the side, and then dripping onto the table between my molds. I was pouring toward myself. So then I cuss, tip the bowl upright, and try to move it aside to see what the damage was. And then I'm not paying attention to the bowl and then pour it, toward me, down the left leg of my pants.

I like to wear loose jammie pants when I soap...don't judge me!

So, I set the bowl on top of an empty log mold, whip my pants off before the batter soaks in and touches my skin. And then I finish pouring, and do some quick damage control / clean up. All is well, the soap is beautiful, and no burns to be found! Well, under one of my nails is a little tender, but yanno...It happens...
moral of the story: WEAR PANTS! I know it saved me a nasty burn yesterday!
