When do *you* start soaping like a maniac for the holidays?

Am I a little slow? I was thinking September 1 would be ok...DH has the whole month off. Too late?

(Last year I was working like MAD until 12-15 or so....)

Around August, so I have plenty of time to make them and let them cure.

If I'm doing new fragrances, I run scent tests in June and July. I already smell like pine needles, and quite frankly I'm a bit cranky about it.

I have some tried-and-true scents, and those get made around August for me, too.

I agree--- August. I will also throw in a few pumpkin spice and apple ones now for my Sept show but the whole Christmas thing starts in August.

Im trying to get the bulk of it done now. Before my garden starts keeping me busy canning and freezing. Really the Christmas shopping season starts around the 1st of october. That soap need to be made by mid august at the latest.

WHy yes honey, yes I do. We're gonna be up to our eyeballs in soap.

You'll be up to your eyeballs in soap for quite a while! All that soap has to cure for 4weeks---- dh made a great rack for the spare room, but it's never big enough for the Christmas soaps!

I will be starting Christmas lines in a week or two. I do 3 farmers markets over the summer and as they all finish in October, so I like to have samples and flyers out mid-September and product for sale all through October. By the time December comes we've usually had enough of the festive season!!
