I have a recipe that I would like to use. I use the MMS calculator. They have a suggestion of say for example: 5 - 9oz of water (just pulled that out of my head) anyway, I would like to use say 7 oz of water and use the CPOP method. My question is: Would this be safe to do? And would my soap turn out okay using the discounted water and CPOP method? Thanks.

You can discount your water if you know that the ingredients or the fragrance will not accelerate trace or seize.

Hello Spotted cat,
What is the MMS Calculator? Never knew there were so many calculators for making soap!

Hi Carol-ann,

go to: www.thesage.com. They have a lye calculator there. You punch in your numbers for your oils & it will give you the amount of lye needed for that recipe along with the water amount.
