I have had goats for 13 yrs and shown for most of those and have never washed one! By the time they are shaved, they are clean. You can take baby wipes to eyes, ears and bums and that pretty much does it. Make sure the hooves are picked out and cut level. Practice leading so they behave in the ring and good luck!

PS--- any homemade soap is better for washing just about any animal if you need to!

I want to see you TRY and wash a goat! They HATE water!!! We had a herd of 22. They would get VERY testy when they got wet in the rain. They would trample each other to get to the shelter

My goats loved to get baths! We only showed them once but when we did, we shaved them and then gave them a bath. They just stood there and played in the water. They really were more like dogs than goats though. Still are. They have since moved to a friend's neighbors house and they are treated absolutely wonderfully!
