I'm making some wood soap molds and want to hinge the sides. What makes the sides stay up? Help!

I have hook and eye closures at the top that each hold one long side and one short side for a total of four.

Thanks for your suggestion. I ended up using a mirror holder... sounds strange I know but its a flat piece of metal bent up into a U shape to hold a mirror when mounted on the wall. I twist it and it holds the side up. My sister has my camera so once I get it back I will post pictures!
Thanks!

So I finally finished my soap mold and since the lid was plain it hollered at me like a blank canvas wanting to be decorated.

Check it out!

Very cute lids!!! I put a hinge on one side of my soap mold and a hook and eye on the other. It swings open and I can pop the soap right out. Initially hubby had made the boxes so everything was screwed in place but I soon learned that wood swells and unless it's angled slightly larger at the top than the bottom, the soap doesn't come out!
