I love all the artsy stuff you can do with M & P, but I just love the texture of CP so much. How's about showing our own examples of CP swirls? This is Amaretto FO with 2/3 coloured with Titanium Dioxide and 1/3 coloured with Witch Hazel, swirled with a wide popsicle stick.

Beautiful swirl!
You mention that the dark bits are colored with witch hazel. The witch hazel I am familiar with is a clear liquid. Is it the name of some sort of colorant color?

It is witch hazel leaf powder. Roughly 1 tablespoon in 3 pounds of soap. It will cure to a dark reddish brown, too brown sometimes, use sparingly! Glad you like them.

No, it doesn't make the soap astringent. It is good for inflamed skin, eczema, bruises, insects bites etc.

Two teaspoons of titanium dioxide in a 10lb mix (8lbs after I've taken out the mix to be coloured). Basic recipe is olive (pomace), coconut and palm in that order.

Beautiful swirlies!!

I have such a hard time with swirls. Any suggestions for a great super detailed tutorial? I've tried so many times and it never comes out right

I just made a deep red with purple swirl soap. It's still in the mold but I hope it looks cool once I cut it :mrgreen:
