Can anyone recommend a comprehensive cold process soapmaking book.
Thanks for answering my so many questions! ;)

I have used Susan Miller Cavitch's Soapmaker's Companion which gives a pretty good overview of the process. There are several drawbacks to the book and I found that by piecing information from that and online sources to be really helpful. Miller's Soap page has been the best overall resource. My advice would be to do as much reading as you can, both from books and online. Make notes for yourself and then let experience be your teacher. I'm sure there are plenty of more experienced soapers who will have other suggestions. Enjoy!

Alicia Grosso has a good soapmaking book also.

I read 'Smart Soapmaking' by Anne L. Watson. It's a quick read, has some simple recipes, and best of all, addresses a lot of the "Why do we do that?"

Soapmaker's Companion and The Everything Soapmaking Book are both awesome! And I did a Beginning Cold Process Soap DVD that might prove helpful as well:

SoapBuddy, I'd love to publish/sell your book if you write it!

I've read the Smart Soapmaking and Milk Soapmaking by Anne Watson, Essentially Soap by Robert McDaniel and The Everything Soapmaking book by Alicia Grosso. So far, Alicia Grosso's is the best, IMHO. It covers the different soapmaking techniques and is clear and concise.

Hello, sorry to jump in here, but I was looking for someone on line now that could answer a question, is it safe to put my CP soap into a box mold lined with parchment paper.

I may be a bit late in replying for you but to answer your question...
Many people use parchment paper or freezer paper to line their molds. I've even heard of people using plastic trash bags. Just don't use aluminum foil or any metalic molds.

Also FYI - there is no harm in starting a new thread for a question or new topic.

I find trash bags to be the fastest and easiest.
