Ok, I made a 3lb batch of soap my recipe is:

avocado oil 4oz
castor oil 1oz
mango butter 2oz
olive oil 12oz
Coconut oil 8oz
palm oil 10oz
.5oz ROE

Lye 5.17oz
distilled water 14oz

soaped at 110 degees (give or take a couple of degrees), I added a mixture of (1TBSP rosehip powder & glycerin) to the oils right before I added the lye water to the oils. Mixed to trace, added 2.1oz Kumquat FO & 1.5 Teas. of Yellow Dye. My soap after 4 days in the mold wasn't quite firm. I cut the soap into bars and I have an 1/8 rim of red around the yellow (like a picture frame). I'm assuming that is the rosehip powder. Should I rebatch this soap? I did a zap test and it seems okay? The soap is still pretty soft. I had to wipe the blade off between cuts because there was soft soap on it.

If it looks like a "rind" around the soap where the mold was, I have been told that is from the soap getting too hot. I've had a couple do that, and it was just fine soap-wise. The color may be because the edge is a teeny bit cooler due to heat dissipating to the mold.

Thank you Vinca! You've made me a happy girl! I love the smell of the soap and was hoping it was okay, and yes you described it just like it is, a rind around the soap. Thanks again!!!!

I'd say it was most likely the rosehip powder. The red won't stay though. Over time it will darken to brown.
