Hello everyone!
I usually wrap my soaps in white tissue paper and place my label over it. I was wondering if I use color tissue paper will the color rub off on the soap?

It will rub off or bleed onto the soap. I wouldn't do it.

There was a gal on another forum who wrapped her soaps in nothing BUT tissue paper, and she made a lot of soap!

I was in a couple swaps with her and it never bled on to the soap. I think if you wait until the soap is FULLY cured and not at all tacky, you should be ok.

I've used a couple of different types of colored tissue paper with varying results. I have used the basic, inexpensive tissue paper which bleeds onto the soap and then I have some tissue paper which was labeled "craft tissue paper" which feels stifferand has a design printed on one side. That paper has a bit of a shiny finish on the printed side and I haven't found that it bleeds. Unfortunately, I can't tell you a brand name, but I have seen it in different craft stores, dollar stores, etc. The easiest way I have found to do a quick test is to slighty moisten a small piece of white tissue and rub that against the colored tissue. To be honest, I just lick it, but you could mist it with water. The cheap color will rub off immediately and your white testing paper will no longer be white. I haven't had the color on the other papers rub off or bleed into my soaps but the ones I was testing were only wrapped for about 3 months.

I have seen it done before but it concerns me because I live in hot and humid Miami- I would love to try it but I don't want to risk it. Maybe if I found a good supplier, but for now I'll just stick to white!

I found a tissue paper that is supposed to be non-bleeding. It's called Pacon Kolor- Fast tissue. I'm going to see if I go out and buy some &
experiment with it.
