Hi joecate! All my soaps are fresh frozen goatmilk--- no water. I use the full amount of water recommended by the lye caluculator in goatmilk for each batch. As JessieV says, freeze your goatmilk in a flat freezer bag then pound it into small pieces. Weigh the pieces per your recipe and slowly sprinkle the lye on top while stirring constantly until all the pieces are melted and it looks the a pina colada ( well, it does to me but it may be wishful thinking or something......) I have never had "separation" using this method. I do keep my oils slightly warmer than room temp because the cold milk/lye solution will cool the whole thing down pretty low and you want it thoroughly mixed and not false trace. Good luck!
