I am thinking of making a vegan version of my OMH soap and was thinking of using molasses as a sub for honey. Has anyone used this? I have looked in my books and online and nothing on this ingredient.

You can use it, but don't use a large amount. It can make the soap overheat due to all the sugar. I would start with a tsp. per lb. of soap.

I made the molasses soap this weekend. I used my OMH recipe- just subed. honey with molasses & goats milk with coconut milk. I left is unscented and it has a nice syrupy aroma. The color was nice and creamy beige going into the mold but got darker when it gelled.
