Teach Soap

Am trying to pipe the cold process soap first time. I need some advice on how to do this in a right way. How long should I let my soap sit before piping the soap. 24 hours? 48 hours? Or just only till it hardens up enough? And when it hardens up, I know am supposed to spray alcohol on it so that piping adhers to soap. But does that really work?

I'm pretty sure the alcohol spritzing is for melt and pour. I've never done it with cold process.

I've piped cold process soap several times. I don't wait anywhere close to that long. I pour the base as usual and leave some out as extra for piping. Wait for the extra to be at a very thick trace, like buttercream frosting. Then pop it into a piping bag and use. By then, the main base of the soap is firm enough to support the piping. I've never had any problems doing it this way.

You can pipe as soon as the soap is hard enough to keep its shape for the piping.
The alcohol spritz helps some people with soda ash on top of the soap.
I don't spritz.
