Teach Soap

Hello everyone! I recently made a batch of soap using 45 oz of BB's Swirl Mix, 6.2 oz of lye and 14.8 oz of distilled water. I used BBs Lovespell fragrance (2oz) as well. My soap was doing great, i had made it on Jan. 1st and i was just shaving off the dull sides when i noticed a lye(?) pocket and did the zap test of course hurt like hell. I even zapped another bar and got the same result I was surprised since it behaved very well when mixing and pouring into the mold (i did an in the pot swirl) and didn't notice anything when cutting. All of my bars look fine but now I feel i should throw them all out? I used the lye calc and it should be fine i don't know why it turned out heavy

Is the whole soap kinda crumbly and hard? If not, your whole soap may not be lye heavy. It could be that your emulsion separated in the mold a bit before saponification was well underway. This explains the pockets formed where the lye water separated out. If these areas zap, for sure that's lye so unfortunately you can't use it the way it is. If you want to save it, rebatch and do a zap test after cooking is complete. If it passes, you can use it. If not completely.. well at the worst, you can always use it as laundry soap.

It's also possible that you reached a false trace. What temp were your oils and lye when you mixed them?
You can definitely try rebatching like Gerry mentioned.

If all your weights were correct, I would rebatch.
