Hi Guys,
Last night I made my very first batch of soap and went the cold process way.
The recipe used is as follows:
5.28 oz of hot water
2.38 oz lye
5 oz coconut oil
5 oz olive oil
6 oz palm oil
3 tbsp used coffee grounds
Spearmint EO 1oz
The recipe required the coffee grounds to be mixed in hot water and then use this infused water to mix in the lye. I did follow the process to the core (reached a medium trace) but insulated the soaps with just cling wrap
and left over night in a warm place in the kitchen. Today, the soaps have kind of hardened but still a bit soft to touch so have unmoulded them and left to dry in open. Was this the right thing to do? Is the recipe gonna give out the desired results?
I am brand new to soap making and this is my first every attempt at soap making; so can use all the guidance I can get. Thanks in advance
PS: I used bramble berry lye calculator for this recipe
