Hi All,
Am sure this is a repeat question but still gonna be a dumb and ask again. 19 hrs back I made this mud soap using the following recipe:
20 oz. olive oil
10 oz. coconut oil
0.9 oz sodium lactate
4.2 oz lye
9.9 oz water
2 oz French green clay
titanium dioxide
1 tsp bronze mica color
1/2 ounce Rosemary essential oil
Now, I still feel the soap to be soft after 19hrs and not ready to unmould. This is my first time of using sodium lactate and had to use it since client wouldn't bear to wait for 4 weeks of curing period. I had read her again and again that sodium lactate helps soap harden faster but seems not happening in my case. Can any one please tell me where I went wrong?
I forgot to mix sodium lactate into lye and had mixed it in just after adding the lye to oils and before starting to trace. The oils and lye were at same warm temperature.
The soap heated up during insulation though. Kept it covered with cling film and under a blanket through the night. It looks nice but am still too scared to try removing it from the mould. Am in Mumbai, India where the weather is right now humid and temp a bit cool due to the rains.
Hopefully the soap turns out fine.

PS: forgot to mention, this was a HP recipe that I did in CP. Big mistake????
