Hi Everyone,

Just wondering if I can use these off-the-shelf ready to use syrups in cold process soap making in non availability of a particular fragrance oil like say the caramel fragrance oil? Can i use Hershey's caramel syrup then?? Caramel fragrance oil is not available easily in India. Any one can share a recipe for caramel soap?

Thanks in advance :D :) :P

I would love to try out this Espresso Shot Cold Process recipe from teachsoap.com but the ingredients in red are not available. :( So any suggestions for substitutes? :?

16.5 oz. Olive Oil
13.7 oz. Palm Oil
7.7 oz. Sodium Hydroxide

Adding any syrup to your soap can make the soap overheat due to the sugars. You can add it in a small amount and watch it so the soap doesn't overheat.
Coffee butter is most likely hydrogenated vegetable oil like soybean, so you can sub any other hydrogenated oil for the butter. It won't have the scent of the coffee butter though.
You can either recalculate the recipe without the Hazelnut Oil, or add another oil that's liquid at room temperature.

Some people use triple brewed coffee for the water amount. You have to work very carefully with coffee and use lower temps.
I find it doesn't add any scent, but makes for a nice label appeal.

Don't forget the recalculate the recipe through a lye calculator if you change anything in the original recipe.
