I have not been here in a while. I have made 4 batches of this particular peppermint rosemary cp soap using olive oil, coconut, shea, palm and castor. Same oils each time and always the same oils in all my other "flavors" of cp soap. out of the 4 batches 3 came out with a bumpy texture after cutting them. One of the batches came out super smooth on it's cut surface. I have seen various speculations on other forums but does anyone here have experience with this? It's kind of an aesthetic bummer to have this great bar of soap only to see what looks like pimples on my soap. I use EO's btw and kaolin clay in this batch. What am I doing wrong and what did I do right with that one batch of soap?

Do you have a picture of the bumpy soap you could share and at what temperature did you soap? Did you gel the soap or refrigerate?

Some essential oils raise the temperature of soap or can cause overheating. The marks on the surface could be from air that rose to the top as the soap got hot. It's just an esthetic issue. If it bothers you, you can plane it off.

I have this one. I have had it for at least 7 years. I'm not sure where you would get it in the US.

We have a soap shaver, I use it on thin to get rid of soda ash. You can change it to a thicker shave as well. It also makes fun soap curls! =)
