Teach Soap

Brambleberry has a few different sizes depending on the size batch 1 gal, 5 gal, 55 gal (can you imagine....55 gallons of soap???). Anyone here used it or something similar? I'm thinking about "moving up" from stick blender to squirrel blender, lol!

For 50 lbs. of soap, I use a cordless drill and a paint stirrer attachment.

how do you know if it's aluminum?

I'm pretty sure mine isn't aluminum. It's heavy and silver in color, not like the one in the pic. I haven't had any problems yet. I've been using it for close to 3 years.

GAH! It disappeared!!!

Totally made the commitment to give it a shot...and it's no longer in the BB catalog! I dunno if I wanna try it out enough to pay the shipping from Squirrel Blender Inc. Grrrr!

Yeah, I should. I may hit ye ole hardware store to get a paint spinner, and "next time" add it to my order...

Sadly our supplier quadrupled the minimum order and since that's the only item we get from them we just couldn't order and store 2 pallets of mixer attachments.

We haven't been able to find a good quality, reasonably priced alternative - so we removed it from our site. I've seen paint mixers at the hardware store that look just like our mixers - so maybe try searching for paint mixers made from plastic or other non-rusting, non-reactive material. I bet they will be much less expensive than the other 'soap' mixers you can find online. And we will continue our search as well!

We had a snow day today, and I was trying to talk my hubby in taking a hardware store trip today...but no go. I'll update with what I find for a squirrel-alternative.

Went to Home Depot yesterday, and guess what....they sell the squirrel mixer!

And guess what else, a gallon mixer is $2.97 there!

So, we'll be squirrel-soaping today....I'll let you know how it goes!

Used it today for a few batches of soap. I'd have to say it's not quite the right size for 3# but it did ok, but was pretty helpful for 6#.

And I forgot the SL in one of my batches!!!
But...I *do* think I got a decent swirl outta the deal!

I can already tell that 2% beeswax is not enough to keep the ash away though...
