Teach Soap

I am an all grain homebrewer. So when I make my beer soaps I of course use my all natural beer in them. The picture is of me making a Porter. In all it takes me 8 hours total in 3 different settings to make the beer. Then add the soap making time to it as well. In 5 to 6 weeks it is ready to drink. I could use it for soap after 1 or 2 weeks. It makes a very nice shampoo bar.

Hi, I am a novice wine maker, so I am interested in why you are decanting into a cooler and then through a strainer into another container. Is this a method that would help rid wine of the leas? Right now I am siphoning my wine from the top of the batch into bottles, trying not to get any sediment.

I put all my grain that has been ground into the cooler that has a false bottom in it. Then add 154 deg water and put a lid on it and hold for 1 hour. The upper bucket has my sparge water in it that is 180 deg. I run that into the cooler and have a pot under the cooler to catch what runs off the grain. The strainer is there just to catch any loose grain that makes it through the false bottom. When I fill the pot under the cooler then I boil it for an hour. Mabye to help with your sediment issue try some Irish moss. I add 1 teaspoon at the last 15 min of the boil. It is supposed to help all the fine particles stick together and sink to the bottom.
